Ok, I found emerge; it's in /usr/lib/portage/bin/ . I think maybe the page at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/macos-guide.xml just needs updating, or a symlink from the default path (/usr/bin maybe?) should be made to emerge. Also, the link from /etc/make.profile to /usr/portage/profiles/[whatever] is made by the installer automagically. I'm not marking this as resolved yet, since the install instructions don't actually work, but things are now working for me. So, the installer page does have the emerge command not found as an issue, and it says how to fix it. I just didn't notice it on my first read-through. Sorry... Closing out bugs that've been resolved for a while now... |
