What's the error? Perhaps we can get it fixed. I too can not get kdemultimedia-3.3.0 to install, only changing the MAKEOPTS to -j1 did _NOT_ work for me. I only have 1 cpu and it's a celeron. below is what I get just before the compile fails: /bin/sh ../../libtool --silent --mode=compile --tag=CXX g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. Looks like you're compiling against libraries that were compiled with older versions of gcc. I'm doubtful that will work.
Before this gcc 3.3.3 was installed. When I did the `emerge -uD kde` a newer version(3.4.2) of gcc was somewhere in the middle... Everything was going well until the kdemultimedia. All of the 3.3.3 libs are still on the machine. How do I go about installing using the right libraries? Using gcc-config I've switched to the older 3.3.3m I'll update once it completes - failure|success.. Reverting to gcc 3.3.3 and using -j1 worked for me. closing as original poster never responded. |
