While trying to emerge libperl 5.8.5 on MacOS X 10.3.5, the build dies on a call to libtool.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. ekeywords macos libperl-5.8.5.ebuild
2. emerge --nodeps libperl
Actual Results:  
The build dies with the following error:
