You probably ran out of memory. Try a smaller MAKEOPTS for webkit-gtk. and dmesg after the failure would in this case probably tell that OOM handler kicked in, which would result in what you see in the build.log, instead of an OOM message Closing bug per the suspicion this is just an our of memory situation with MAKEOPTS="-j9". I think some of this can't be swapped and it hits it or some such when too many parallel jobs and not enough gigabytes of memory for all of that, I bet even just -j6 might work fine for this.
