I'm using kernel 2.6.8.1. After emerging sync, I tried to emerge portage, but I couldn't. It showed this message:
!!!Error: sys-apps/portage-2.0.50-r10 failed.
!!!Function src_compile, Line 64, Exitcode 2
!!!(no error message)
Then I cannot emerge any package, I always get a Error in Function src_(something)
Another example:
When I try to emerge gcc I get:
!!!Error: sys-devel/gcc-config-1.3.6-r1 failed.
!!!Function src_install, Line 47, Exitcode 1
!!!(no error message)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge sync
2.emerge portage
3.

Actual Results:  
I cannot emerge anything (only sync).

Please attach the output of "emerge --debug portage"
