Spaces and brackets are not nice, but not forbidden.
However spaces are a trap for broken bash scripts with missing {}
If a (gentoo) script fails to handle files with spaces, please create a bug report for that tool.
I assign the ticket to python@, if they want to create cleaner file names...
Perhaps the best is to report upstream, if you think they should use different filenames.
