I upgraded from net-misc/networkmanager-1.4.4-r1 and gnome-extra/nm-applet-1.4.6-r1 to net-misc/networkmanager-1.8.0 and gnome-extra/nm-applet-1.8.0.

My android phone shares Internet by USB with my computer. With version 1.4, the connection is stable but with 1.8, I'm loosing connection after around 20s.

And just to be exhaustive, the line :

also appears with 1.4 but do not cut the connexion.

It is sad to read that you have problems with the software. The situation seems to be a bit more complicate and requires some analysis.
We can not help you efficiently via bug tracker. The bug tracker aims rather on specific problems in .ebuilds and less on individual systems. 

I have had very good experience on the gentoo IRC [1] with questions like this. Of course there are also forums and mailing lists [2,3].
I hope you understand, that I will close the bug here therefore and wish you good luck on one of the mentioned channels [4].
Please reopen the ticket in order to provide an indication for an error in the ebuild.

Dear,

Just for the record. Now with networkmanager 1.10.2 (I didn't try with other) and nm-applet-1.8.6 every thing is better. I'm still disconnected after 20s but then the reconnection is automatic and the line is good after that.
