Corrections to the Gentoo Handbook
It's taken me some time to find all those mistakes ;-) Of course, page numbers are useless. John had two comments besides the language problems: 1- reiserfs not readable from Windows I was not even aware other filesystems were. If anyone knows what tools can be used to access the different FS in Linux, maybe it could be worth mentioning them in the FAQ but I'd rather leave the HB as it is, for now. 2- why is ccache not installed by default? No idea and I am not going to try to find out ;-) Anyway, why burden our users with the why's amd why not's? If you want it, emerge ccache, it can't be simpler. Many thanks to you John. ccache is a feature not everyone wants ... if it were part of the stage files that means it'd have to be added to the system targets and that's not going to happen as for the reiserfs / dual boot junk ... ext2/ext3 is about the only filesystem that has any windows drivers written for it and those arent even totally stable/easy to use ... so i dont really think a note should be added about it (after all, we dont want newcomers mounting their partitions in windows and totally blowing it up / screwing the filesystems ...) |
