The 2.4 kernels *used* to be patched for that feature. Apparently they are not anymore. I'm going to mark this as WONTFIX, simply because we will not be using the 2.4 kernel on the LiveCD anymore due to the massive number of 2.4-related bugs we have received. All future LiveCD's will be entirely 2.6-based. |
In the /etc/motd on the 2004.2 universal LiveCD for x86 the /proc/config(.gz) file is mentioned: > /proc/config(.gz) for kernel configuration. But there is no such file in the /proc filesystem (Using the default kernel). livecd / # uname -r 2.4.26-gentoo-r6 AFAIK this feature is not available in 2.4 kernels. So you maybe should change the line in /etc/motd to something like: /proc/config(.gz) for kernel configuration. (only 2.6 kernels) or patch the kernel so it supports that feature.
