Nothing changed with version 5.3.4.2, nobody else affected? I'm affected too, currently on libreoffice 5.3.4.2: 5.3.4.2(10:10:05 27.06.2017)(bluetooth branding cups dbus gstreamer gtk kde pdfimport -aqua -coinmp -collada -debug -eds -firebird -gltf -gnome -googledrive -gtk3 -java -jemalloc -libressl -mysql -odk -postgres -quickstarter -telepathy -test -vlc ELIBC="-FreeBSD" LIBREOFFICE_EXTENSIONS="-nlpsolver -scripting-beanshell -scripting-javascript -wiki-publisher" PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="python3_4 -python2_7 -python3_5 -python3_6" PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7 python3_4 -python3_5 -python3_6") Still the same problem with 5.4.0.3. Just tested version 5.4.2.2, but no change :-( Report upstream? - Is it definitely an issue that does not happen when you downgrade to 5.2.7.2 *now*? - Do you have higher-DPI screens w/ some kind of scaling enabled? - What if you start it with `SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk libreoffice`? Created attachment 498346 [details] libreoffice.tar.gz Hello Andreas, > Is it definitely an issue that does not happen when you downgrade to 5.2.7.2 *now*? I just now did a full emerge of 5.2.7.2, everything is fine for me with this version. > Do you have higher-DPI screens w/ some kind of scaling enabled? No, it is a laptop with standard 1920*1080 resolution. > What if you start it with `SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk libreoffice`? The labels in menu bar are then displayed properly, but the upscaling remains. See attached screenshots. This Gentoo here is a mixed system with many packages from ~ARCH (for e.g. kde-frameworks-5.38.0, kde-apps-17.08.1, etc.) but the system and Xorg etc. are from stable. I assume that you use full ~ARCH and did not have this issue? I used these entrys in my package.accept_keywords: #libreoffice app-office/libreoffice app-office/libreoffice-l10n dev-libs/liborcus dev-libs/libixion app-text/libstaroffice media-libs/libzmf dev-util/mdds dev-libs/xmlsec dev-util/cppunit So could these 2 display problems possibly caused by other installed "outdated" (from upstream side) packages, for e.g. Xorg or some of its deps? (In reply to Frank Krömmelbein from comment #7) > This Gentoo here is a mixed system with many packages from ~ARCH (for e.g. > kde-frameworks-5.38.0, kde-apps-17.08.1, etc.) but the system and Xorg etc. > are from stable. > I assume that you use full ~ARCH and did not have this issue? It's basically the same for me on production system and no issue at all with LO. Still open upstream bug report for the upscaled icons bug: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105489 This is fixed for me with version 6.0.1.1: [ebuild R ~] app-office/libreoffice-6.0.1.1::gentoo USE="bluetooth branding cups dbus googledrive gtk java kde mysql pdfimport vlc -coinmp -debug -eds -firebird -gstreamer -gtk2 -jemalloc -libressl -odk -postgres {-test}" LIBREOFFICE_EXTENSIONS="nlpsolver -scripting-beanshell -scripting-javascript -wiki-publisher" PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="python3_5 -python2_7 -python3_4 -python3_6" PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7 python3_5 -python3_4 -python3_6" 0 KiB Should i close this ticket, or leave it open until a version 6.x.x.x has been stabilized? Thanks for the report, I can confirm this is fixed on my system as well. However, in >=6.0 USE=gtk switched from gtk+:2 to gtk+:3 - can we be sure this isn't just a side-effect of runnung the gtk3 frontend vs. legacy gtk2? (In reply to Andreas Sturmlechner from comment #11) > However, in >=6.0 USE=gtk switched from gtk+:2 to gtk+:3 - can we be sure > this isn't just a side-effect of runnung the gtk3 frontend vs. legacy gtk2? I had tried different variants and useflag combinations back then including gtk3. But the problem persisted for all versions >= 5.3.0 I think this was a simply a regression that crept in through the improvements for HiDPI.
