Basically I had a clean compile and would like to see the ~amd64 added to the accepted keywords so I can do a more thorough test

what version did you emerge? which version of dev-tcltk/expect did you use?
i can't confirm that because expect fails to emerge

Sorry abot forgetting the version number - below are the version of expect and courier installed.

*  dev-tcltk/expect
      Latest version installed: 5.40.0-r1
*  mail-mta/courier [ Masked ]
      Latest version installed: 0.46
