To begin with, the snippet you have provided clearly indicates that you are trying to emerge burp from the archenroot overlay, not from the main tree; I am only the maintainer of the latter. Secondly, app-backup/burp-2.0.54 does list dev-libs/uthash and net-libs/librsync in its dependencies and the two do get pulled in by emerge on both my regular workstation and a clean system. You might want to double-check your Portage configuration. Finally, the error which causes the install phase to fail is not the failure to set extended attributes but rather the absence of /var/lib/layman/archenroot/app-backup/burp/files/burp.service . It seems either layman on your system has somehow failed to synchronise archenroot on your system or whoever's copied the burp ebuild from the main tree to archenroot has got it wrong.
