When compiling Metacity 2.8.x with the composite extension, Metacity does not function.  No windows decorations appear.

yeah we know, you are using a p.mask-ed or even non-gentoo xorg version. We even talked this and you know i knew about it, so i wonder why you file a bug about it ?

Anyway, it works, but not reliable.
