If OpenLDAP is built with slp USE Flag against openslp 2.0.0 or newer it fails to start with the following error message:

~ # /etc/init.d/slapd start

To fix the problem you either have to remove the slp USE Flag from OpenLDAP or according to https://sourceforge.net/p/openslp/bugs/149/ set "-DHAVE_STRNCASECMP" while compiling openslp.

I can confirm openslp-2.0.0-r5 fixes this issue.
