Ploticus is a command line driven plotting package.  A library can be developed from the standard ploticus source (using Makefile_api instead of Makefile) that allow the ploticus API to be available to other applications, including Python and Perl.  Because this could be the basis of a different plotting system, I created a new ebuild just for the library.  See (http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51739) for the standard ploticus ebuild on which this one is based.
