Here's a kdmrc prototype ready to go in ${FILESDIR}/3.3.0/
It's generated with kde-cvs stock defaults, only customization
is the greeter font.
Consider also adding this line to src_install()
cp ${D}/${PREFIX}/share/apps/kdm/pics/users/default1.png
${D}/${PREFIX}/share/apps/kdm/faces/.default.face.icon
(substitute default1.png with your preferred pic)
so that kdm displays an icon besides users in the user list, and not pollutes
the system log with the line "Can't open default user face"
I think the 3.3.1 ebuilds are a good opprtunity to address this bug. Please give the new kdmrc a try, and put it in files/3.3.1/ and add the mentioned line in kdebase-3.3.1.ebuild Thanks Gregorio - it's in 3.3.1 now. so this is fixed |
kdebase-3.3.0 The file /usr/kde/3.3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc delivered from /usr/portage/kde-base/kdebase/files/3.3.0/kdmrc is not suitable for this version since the kdm config file version recently changed from ConfigVersion=2.1 to 2.2. Please adapt this minor changes (i.e. GreeterPos{X,Y}={xpix,ypix} to GreeterPos=xpercent,ypercent) generating a new default config file with /usr/kde/3.3/bin/genkdmconf. Since the --old-kde option doesn't convert right until now we should renew this file. I didn't know the preferred defaultoverrides of the gentoo-kde edition, so I give this task away to people maintaining the ebuild. Overall I'm really happy with kde-3.3.0.
