Now I'm trying KDE 3.3.1, and Kate isn't crashing quite as readily, but Konqueror is still unstable, with lots of SIGSEGV. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch Konqueror. 2. Go to some web page. 3. Right-click on a link, and select Save Link As... 4. Click Save. Several months later, another version of KDE, same problems. But this time, I've been recompiling to try to extract backtraces from these crashes. And the KDE person assigned to the bug seems reluctant to help. For now, I guess I can point to the bug report at http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106049 Portage 2.0.51.19 (default-linux/alpha/2005.0/2.4, gcc-3.3.2, glibc-2.3.2-r12, 2.4.30 alpha) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.30 alpha EV5 Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 Python: dev-lang/python-2.3.4-r1 [2.3.4 (#1, Feb 7 2005, 17:51:24)] distcc 2.16 alphaev5-unknown-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [enabled] ccache version 2.3 [disabled] dev-lang/python: 2.3.4-r1 sys-apps/sandbox: [Not Present] sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.9.5, 1.6.3, 1.8.5-r3, 1.4_p6, 1.7.9-r1, 1.5 sys-devel/binutils: 2.14.90.0.8-r2 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.16 virtual/os-headers: 2.4.23 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="alpha" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O2 -mcpu=ev5 -pipe -mieee -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="alphaev5-unknown-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/env /usr/kde/3.3/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -mcpu=ev5 -pipe -mieee -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs autoconfig distcc distlocks sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j3" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="alpha X aac aalib acl arts artswrappersuid audiofile berkdb bitmap-fonts cdparanoia cdr cjk crypt cscope cups curl dlloader doc dv dvd eds emacs encode esd fam fastcgi fbcon ffmpeg flac font-server foomaticdb fortran fpx gcj gdbm gif gnome gnutls gpm graphviz gstreamer gtk gtk2 guile idea imagemagick imlib ipv6 javascript jbig jpeg jpeg2k kde lcms leim libcaca libg++ libwww lua mad md5sum mikmod mng motif mozdevelop mozilla mozsvg mozxmlterm mp3 mpeg nas ncurses network nls ogg oggvorbis opengl oss pam pcre pdflib perl pic png povray python qt quicktime readline samba scanner sdl silc skey slang slp speex spell ssl tcltk tcpd tetex theora threads tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts ucs2 unicode usb vim-with-x vorbis wmf xine xinerama xml2 xmms xscreensaver xv xvid zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CBUILD, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY Decade, is this problem fixed with new versiones? or should we keep the bug open and marked upstream? Actually, it seems to have vanished in a manner that I don't know what happened. I guess this could close for now. |
