Several KDE 3.2.2 programs are crashing in unexpected ways, usually with SIGSEGV.

For example, I open Konqueror, go to a web site, right-click on a link, select "Save Link As..." and then dismiss the dialog, either with saving somewhere or cancelling, then Konqueror crashes.

Also, if I open Kate, and eventually open another program, then Kate crashes.

Either way, when I try to use KDE's built-in backtrace, I get:
This backtrace appears to be useless.
This is probably because your packages are built in a way which prevents creating of proper backtraces, or the stack frame was seriously corrupted in the crash.


Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install KDE. Freshly installed system works.
2. Run it. Launch Kate.
3. Do something. Launch Kedit.
Actual Results:  
Kate crashes with SIGSEGV, disappearing shortly before Kedit appears. 

Expected Results:  
Both text editors should be running.

Now I'm trying KDE 3.3.1, and Kate isn't crashing quite as readily, but Konqueror is still unstable, with lots of SIGSEGV.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch Konqueror.
2. Go to some web page.
3. Right-click on a link, and select Save Link As...
4. Click Save.

Several months later, another version of KDE, same problems. But this time, I've
been recompiling to try to extract backtraces from these crashes. And the KDE
person assigned to the bug seems reluctant to help.

For now, I guess I can point to the bug report at

Decade, is this problem fixed with new versiones? or should we keep the bug open and marked upstream?

Actually, it seems to have vanished in a manner that I don't know what happened. I guess this could close for now.
