Found the solution of the problem: Pulseaudio Due to some basic problems of Pulseaudio with my Asus Xonar card I removed that "nice piece" after some time of testing. Not sure why, but some libs remained in the system: /usr/lib32/libpulse.so.0 /usr/lib64/libpulse.so.0 /usr/lib64/libpulse-simple.so.0 After removing that stuff Firefox installed successfully and runs fine (including sound). Hence, I assume the problem was caused by an incomplete Pulseaudio installation (or better removal). As I wrote. The problem was caused by a dirty Pulseaudio deinstallation. |
