Description Andreas Sturmlechner gentoo-dev 2017-03-22 22:22:43 UTC
It is required by kde-apps/cantor-16.12.3[julia] that is scheduled for stabilisation.
Comment 1 Matthias Maier gentoo-dev 2017-03-22 23:14:57 UTC
julia 0.5.0 would need the following (R)DEPENDs as well:

  =dev-libs/openspecfun-0.5.1 ~amd64 [1]
  =sci-libs/blas-reference-20161223 ~amd64
  =sci-libs/openlibm-0.5.4 ~amd64
  =dev-libs/double-conversion-2.0.1 ~amd64
  =sys-devel/llvm-3.9.1-r1 ~amd64
  =virtual/blas-3.7 ~amd64

[1] will bump that now.

As a stop-gap solution I would suggest to simply stable-mask the julia use-flag for cantor.
Comment 2 Andreas Sturmlechner gentoo-dev 2017-03-22 23:29:41 UTC
Thanks, stable-mask is not a problem.
Comment 3 Patrick Lauer gentoo-dev 2017-04-04 18:32:11 UTC
This is a horribly bad idea, but I guess that it'll be hard to avoid ...

(I don't consider julia sane enough to be stable, especially as version bumps are very ... very tedious)
Comment 4 J.Borme 2017-04-12 11:26:21 UTC
There is one dependence of julia which does not build, see bug #613576 (sci-libs/spqr-1.2.3-r1)

(In reply to Jérôme Borme from comment #4)
I meant bug #586582
