Did you really download the file? Portage says "File does not exist". This happens to me a lot on my computer with a wireless connection. Deleting the currupt file and remerging the program always works for me. Miles, I did delete the file and the emerge still fails with the same error. I also cannot emerge mirrorselect. I get the same errors. I don't have mirrorselect on my system yet. Miles, Ok, I deleted the file, changed mirrors and things are good again. Datapipe is the problem. They are having problems. Thanks. Please note that I've been having this problem for the past few days on both of my gentoo machines, for which I've run mirrorselect individually at separate times. Both have come up with mirrors.datapipe.net as the first selection in the list of mirrors. It would seem that if indeed datapipe is having difficulties as a gentoo mirror, they would withdraw as a mirror until things are resolved. Removing datapipe from my list of mirrors *seems* to have resolved the issue. Chris, I have to agree. What process is in place or can be put in place to alert mirrors of problems, have them masked from the likes of mirrorselect, and verify their integrity before being unmasked? |
