Bug 61242 – KDE-3.3.0 saves wrong window position on exit

I use to have xosview running in the right lower corner of my screen. I locate the bottom of xosview on top of the panel, so I can see the clock and the icons of the tray applications.

When I log out and log in, xosview is located on the bottom of screen with the panel behind it. Therefore it hides the clock and the tray apps.

In all versions of KDE-3 up to 3.2.3 it behaves like expected, the position of xosview is the same after login as it was before.

I remember the different kind of window in xosview. In KDE-3.0.x and KDE-3.1.x it occured in login sequence much erlier than every other window, even the panel. But nevertheless, it positioned as expected.

KDE-Applications don't show this bug.

This error does not occur on PPC running kde-3.3.0, qt-3.3.3

After re-installing the affected computer from scratch, the bug doesn't show any more. I don't know why it was there before, I don't know why it's gone now.

I think, this bug can be closed.
