1) emerge lablgl again
2) emerge lablgtk again
3) mldonkey should now merge properly.

I had the same problem with 2.5.16-r9 (upgrading from 2.5.16-r7). Reemerging lablgl and lablgtk solved it. (only lablgl was not enough)
