Latest media-libs/libsdl2-2.0.5 contains few bugs that were fixed by the upstream developers (memory leak related - which is important).

Could someone please update the source code for libsdl2-2.0.5 on the Gentoo mirrors and make necessary changes to ebuild?

I'm not sure I understand you correctly. libsdl2-2.0.5 is already available in Gentoo. It's just not yet stable.
So what do you want from this bug? libsdl2-2.0.5 being stabilized or something else?

Sorry for the confusion. I definitely explained myself incorrectly due to misunderstanding I had.

I thought that the upstream 2.0.5 source code is different from what we have on Gentoo mirrors. They in fact are identical.

The bug fixes I am talking about are contained in the latest (development) branch in their code repository.

I guess until the next release is available users can download the latest sources from the upstream and use epatch in order to backport those fixes.
