Bug 60575 – nxclient can't find libcups.so.2

nxclient can't locate libcups.so.2 despite it being in /usr/lib.

I also notice it installs it's binaries into /usr/NX/bin and some libraries in other similar /NX/ locations. This could be improved so it puts them in /usr/bin, right? Seems a pity to deviate form the normal Gentoo way of doing things, unless NX really requires it be done like this.



Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge nxclient
2. /usr/NX/bin/nxclient
3.

Actual Results:  
/usr/NX/bin/nxclient: error while loading shared libraries: libcups.so.2: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory


Expected Results:  
Loaded nxclient successfully.

I'm using amd64, I don't know if this extends to other architectures or not.

The Gentoo way is to do what upstream does, and upstream installs NX into /usr/NX ;-)

I can't reproduce on x86, so this could be an amd64 issue.  I'm re-assigning this to the amd64 team, for them to take a look.

which version are you talking about? they're all masked here. also, please provide `emerge info`

One month w/o answer, resolving as NEEDINFO

Martin, please REOPEN this BUG with the demanded information
(version of nxclient, version up cups, output of emerge info)

Sorry for the late reply guys, it was a while since I'd tried this package and had unmerged related apps. I was trying one of the masked nxclient packages.

I'll have another try now and post results / emerge info details.
