Description Rick Morra 2004-08-15 09:14:37 UTC
When I attempt to search for a bug using quicksearch, I get the infamous "The 'bug number' is invalid" message directing me to bug #70907. Reading the comments there tells me many others have the same problem, but 70907 is about a complete rewrite of the quicksearch function. They consider comments about bugs in the current implementation of quicksearch as spam.

I only get this problem when I'm using privoxy, and I traced it to one filter there: The problem goes away if privoxy is set `-filter{unsolicited-popups}' for the site (even though all of my browsers are set to block popups). Identical behavior with mozilla-firefox-0.9.3-r1, mozilla-1.7-r1, and opera-7.54.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enable privoxy-3.0.2 with default settings
2. Go to http://bugs.gentoo.org in a browser reading through privoxy
3. Enter `ALL [any-text]' in the search box

Actual Results:
Received black-on-red error message.

Expected Results:
Sent bug list.

ok, so why isn't this a bug with privoxy?
Comment 2 Kurt Lieber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-27 05:05:19 UTC
also, if you have a patch, that will greatly increase the chances of this bug being resolved.

taking over bugs related to www-proxy/privoxy
Comment 4 Alin Năstac (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-24 07:46:19 UTC
I cannot reproduce in privoxy-3.0.3.
I guess it was fixed
