I suggest modifying the description of dosym to include text that the links are created inside ${D}. In otherwords dosym target /x/y/z/link will create the link under ${D}/x/y/z. I guess we should assume that all those functions work in ${D} but it's not stated and some functions state that, others don't. I checked the code for dosym to see what it did.
