This could be workarounded by simply adding -qsa to the scripts options. (-q: No questions; -s: Silent; -a: Accept License) Or by using some of the "expert options" if necessary. It looks as though it's much the same script nVidia use for their graphics drivers. Gentoo have managed to work around that in the nvidia-glx and nvidia-kernel ebuilds so I'd imagine it shouldn't be much harder to do something similar here. I'm kind of hoping they will make ebuilds for these as the kernel LAN driver has been fairly dodgy for me lately but in addition the new audio driver offers a feature many have been wanting for a long time: hardware mixing on the audio hardware. That's not offered in any of the kernel sound drivers. Created attachment 38537 [details]
nforce-net-1.0-0283.ebuild
I've prepared an ARCH"~x86" ebuild working with latest gentoo-dev-sources.
It is based on latest ~x86 nvidia-kernel ebuild and also on latest nforce-net
ebuild.
Enjoy.
What about nForce audio ? Cause NV added 2.6.x kernel support nad HV mixng... Any chance of this getting into Portage soon? Thanks. i have created ebuilds for x86 and amd64 that work much the same way as the video driver. they can be found at: ftp://lila-project.ath.cx/upload/nforce i have tested them on an x86 arch using gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.8-r4 My own ebuild is in portage (didn't see this bug, sorry). Also, could all nvnet users please take a look at bug 65330 as this package will probably be removed soon. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 58344 *** Any chance you could possibly whip something up for nforce-audio as well (the previous link seems to be dead)? That's the one I think most people will be interested in. nvnet may provide nothing not already present in forcedeth but, as I mentioned earlier, nvsound has features that aren't - and probably never will be - present in any of the existing open source drivers making it wise to keep in Portage for teh time being. |
