I dunno if this is a feature yet, but it should support dependant dependencies, i.e.
emerge autoconf
if libtool has been emerged, re-emerge it again after emerging autoconf

it currently gives me a big problems when a auto* package is updated because it
breaks my auto[conf/make]+libtool bootstrapping! :(
