www-plugins:gnash-0.8.10_p20160329-r1:20161215-195728.log
I have the same problem. Possibly after installing ffmpeg-3.2.2? Is this plugin still useful after the killing of nppapi plugins? I also don't find any new fixes in git that could solve this :/ http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/gnash.git/log/ Probably not. There are not many browsers left which support NPAPI plugins. I am considering to lastrite this package and www-plugins/lightspark too. Ccing treecleaners then ;) For the time being, Mozilla browsers will include a NPAPI exception for flash. Possibly this will also apply to gnash. Also Firefox 53.0 still have the about:config option "plugin.load_flash_only" that you can set to false and then all NPAPI plugins can still be used. This may still be useful for its standalone (non-browser-based) swf viewer, unless alternatives are available. What other options are in-tree for a standalone viewer that can be used for viewing old saved flash files once this is removed? I don't think lightspark supports older swf formats at the moment. Created attachment 477116 [details] worksforme.log The compile works for me with ffmpeg-3.2.4, I'm not getting this error at all. I never tried compiling it with ffmpeg-3.2.2, and that version is no longer in the tree. Does this error appear with 3.2.4, or perhaps the problem does not appear with the use flags I have selected? I have attached the stdout of my successful compile of gnash which I just ran. I personally do not use gnash as a browser plugin and use it exclusively as a standalone viewer. To my knowledge this is the only flash alternative for standalone viewing of swfs. Lightspark does not support SWF <v10, and instead calls gnash to handle these. Please unmask. occurs with USE=vaapi. Why not just remove that flag instead of the whole package, which otherwise works fine? I'm also experiencing this problemwith ffmpeg-3, if you downgrade, then it works fine. As for vaapi support, yes I think I can live without it but vdpau support does not work [well] on AMD cards, like mine AFAIK. And yes, I do have older swf files laying around. Perhaps we can use ffmpeg to convert them? I'll test that. I also use this package in standalone mode. As there is apparently still interest in gnash/lightspark packages, and there are use cases beside the browser plugin, I will try to make a new snapshot and see if it fixes the issue, failing that mask the vaapi flag. The vaapi flag for gnash has been masked in order to avoid user-visible breakage. Package removed. |
