1047:-- Found Protobuf: /usr/lib64/libprotobuf.so;-lpthread (found version "3.1.0") i.e. this happens after upgrading to dev-libs/protobuf-3.1.0 . Related upstream issue would be https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/issues/17029 so bumping to sci-visualization/paraview-5.2.0 won't help. This appears to be mainly a protobuf issue. Related patch in protobuf [1] [1] https://github.com/google/protobuf/commit/b1295eeffbf2ae7da8a5c7d8601c3ace0663fa09 Upstream reports that updating to protobuf-3.2.0 helps. That would be issue 611180. (In reply to Jouni Kosonen from comment #3) > Upstream reports that updating to protobuf-3.2.0 helps. > That would be issue 611180. Returning to confirm that compiling paraview-5.2.0 against protobuf-3.2.0 does work. Also, bug 594142 doesn't seem to apply to paraview-5.2.0 anymore as there was no problem compiling against dev-libs/jsoncpp-1.7.5 – I didn't try with jsoncpp-1.8.0 because of other reverse deps. I also confirm, that paraview-5.2.0 compiles fine, with protobuf-3.2.0. Modifying the ebuild's name simply works. (In reply to Jouni Kosonen from comment #4) > I didn't try with jsoncpp-1.8.0 because of other reverse deps. I have since tried that, and it does also compile against dev-libs/jsoncpp-1.8.0. |
