Do you have a way to reproduce this? I have not seen this on my machines. Alternatively, can you file a bug at https://bugzilla.xfce.org/ and link to it here so we can track it? Sometimes after reboot I'm able to do something (run top to figure out what is going on, but still I can't even kill xfsettingsd process), but sometimes system quickly became unresponsive and only hard reset helps. Created attachment 454726 [details] emerge --info xfsettingsd process utilizes 100% CPU and system became unusable. Downgrade to xfce-base/xfce4-settings-4.12.1 fixes the problem.
