Download from http://ftp.lfs-matrix.net/pub/blfs/conglomeration/x265/ seems ok (size matches expected, haven't tried compiling with it yet).
On the VLC site, the upload date is 05/10, on lfs-matrix it is 27/09.
I suppose a correct Gentoo mirror would solve this issue, but why is it in the first place?
