Description Joakim Tjernlund 2016-11-10 12:58:14 UTC
The above fonts are needed to replace MS fonts Calibri and Cambria.
See https://wiki.debian.org/SubstitutingCalibriAndCambriaFonts for full
details.

ebuilds can be found here:
https://github.com/karolgrudzinski/c2p-overlay/tree/master/media-fonts

I would be nice if these were pulled in by croscorefonts (or included into)
and their fontconfig is automatically enabled.

ping ?

There is also a newer media-fonts/croscorefonts (1.31) in
https://github.com/karolgrudzinski/c2p-overlay/tree/master/media-fonts

The ebuilds mentioned above have potential copyright problems (ChromeOS ebuilds with an "All rights reserved" in the copyright notice). I will add the fonts after I find a solution for that.

I see, maybe just include Carlito/Caldea in the croscorefonts ebuild(maybe with a USE flag)?

I think they belong together and splitting them into separate ebuild is just
extra work/confusing.

I have not read the linked ebuild(s), so if you need a "clean" implementation to avoid copyright concerns I can help write a new ebuild if necessary.

Seems like a good idea :)

Sorry for the delay. I will look into this soon.

Is there no better location to download than from this opaque location?
How is the download location found for version bumps?

I've bumped croscorefonts to 1.31.0. Will add the extra fonts soon.

Sorry, had forgotten about this bug. I added

media-fonts/crosextrafonts-caladea
media-fonts/crosextrafonts-carlito

to the main tree:

https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/?id=190e18b891106354253b905e5742011765ad7199

https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/?id=50ffb14d02c3383063597b05749bfb0a155bec72

I added as separate ebuilds because they are separate upstream (with different versions, etc).
