Hello all,

I have problem with libreoffice package (stable 5.1.4.2 or unstable 5.2.2.2) - it doesn't matter if I use binary package or compiled from source.

The issue is regarding to type upper-case Czech letters like Č (C with hook), Á (long A). When I try to write it I get only C instead Č, A instead Á.

Lower-case letters I can type without problem.

Regards,
Milos

Does this depend on the font? Are you sure the letters exist in your font?
Comment 2 Milos Novotny 2016-11-18 07:29:17 UTC
No, it is not about font. Characters are written right if you have CAPS LOCK ON and type á, í, ě, š. Characters are displayed right as Á, Í, Ě, Š.

But problem is with sequence when you are typing key "ˇ" and then key S, you got only S, not Š.

Regards,
Milos

Allow me to clarify this bugreport: Dead keys don't work in LibreOffice. It's not a font issue and it's not specific to just Czech diacritics either. Just try to write "Hüttel" using the dead umlaut + ASCII U instead of precomposed U-umlaut key.

I can confirm this bug. I had also problem with opening files where are characters czech (hooks and acute accents) characters in the filename. I rebuild libreoffice with flags -kde -gtk +gtk3 as a workaround. May be this is a kdelibs or Qt lib problem.

I can confirm workaround consisting of rebuilding of libreoffice with flags -kde -gtk +gtk3. I remember that the problem came with kde 5.8. It could confirm your suspicious that kdelibs 5.8 or QT 5.7 are source of problem.

Is this still a problem with current versions?
