Otherwise it complains of a missing libhistory.so.4 at runtime. I experienced this during a world update (ion's compilation routine called lua, lua failed), and was repaired by re-emerging lua

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge old readline
2. emerge lua
3. emerge new readline
4. attempt to run lua

Actual Results:  
some linker errors, I forgot to copy them

Expected Results:  
it should you know, run. I love the guided bug interface :-)

I believe this is another manifestation of bug # 49309.
