I am installing gentoo on a bunch of very old, headless nodes.  It came to my mind that since I'll never be using these with monitors, and indeed would never be using any graphical applications on them that I wouldn't need many display libraries, if any.

I then thought that perhaps we could encourage the use of a "CLI-only" use flag.  This flag would cause the package to be installed with the bare minimum of dependencies to use the tool on the command line.

Obviously a package like "kde" would not use this since it is inherently graphical, and thus the flag would have no effect.

This may cut down on the grapical components of certain packages getting installed when the user explicitly does not want them installed.

Er...my mistake...it seems that using -X is nearly identical to my suggestion *blushes*
