Looks like pytest upstream is aware of the issue; their response seems to that no modern code depends on logilab-common and we should get rid of it. Keeping this open as a reminder to check/fix reverse deps of logilab-common. dev-python/astng-0.24.3 dev-python/astroid-1.3.8 dev-python/logilab-constraint-0.5.0-r1 dev-python/pylint-1.4.4 dev-python/pylint-1.4.5 commit 1c0ff8413255268a8807036f61c4213973d60f19 Author: Mike Gilbert <floppym@gentoo.org> Date: Mon Sep 5 12:21:49 2016 -0400 dev-python/pytest: block dev-python/logilab-common Bug: https://bugs.gentoo.org/592948 Package-Manager: portage-2.3.0_p24 dev-python/pytest/pytest-3.0.2.ebuild | 14 +++++--------- 1 file changed, 5 insertions(+), 9 deletions(-) I checked the reverse deps, and newer versions do not depend on dev-python/logilab-common. I think we should be ok on this. The current stable version of astroid requires logilab-common, so you can end up with a conflict by installing pytest and pylint, for example. Maybe a newer one should be made stable? |
