Given the fact that we don't have binutils versions in portage that do not have zlib support, something small like the attached patch might be sufficient to make use of system-zlib in >=binutils-2.26
We should keep in mind to also add "--with-system-zlib" to any newer sys-libs/binutils-libs package once it gets a newer version.
Guys, this is a trivial change with no side effects.
