Steps to Reproduce:
1. emege gdmb-1.8.3-r1 on ~X86
2. revdep-rebuild --soname libgdbm.so.2
3.

Actual Results:  
fails as above


Expected Results:  
emergence :-)

As a workaround, USE=-berkdb emerge xemacs allows xemacs to emerge (thank $DEITY).

And you can't emege xemacs (21.4.12) on ~PPC at all, 'cause there is no berkdb flags, alas.
