Oh, one more thing. After something like a minute a further somewhat similar BUG appears on the screen, but the boot process makes no progress. With 4.6.4-r1 the problem changed, I no longer see the above error, however the system froze some seconds after I logged into the desktop, without any indication as to what went wrong. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 589154 *** |
Created attachment 440488 [details] foto of stack trace I see the following BUG on my hardened ~amd64 machine since upgrading to 4.5.7-r7 (see attached foto -- is there a way to capture the text of a boot failure stack trace?). The BUG says "BUG: Unable to handle kernel paging request at ffffffffa6b388d7". The foto is from a 4.6.3-r2 kernel. I'm currently running the previous kernel 4.5.7-r5 which works fine. I hope this is the required info for debugging this, if not, please advise.
