It appears that the gimp-freefont ebuild is missing a dependancy

needs >=intltool-0.29 dep

There was already an intltool dependency in gimp-freetype's ebuild, which implies the XML::Parser dependency. I added the version requirement, just to be on the safe side, but this seems to be a problem on your system caused by some Perl weirdness.
