Description Marcin Kryczek (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-29 06:16:35 UTC
when i run mplayer in fullscreen mode, it generally works, but it's not really fullscreen. i mean - i've got thin (about 3pixels) line at bottom of the screen. this line comes from my wm. it's like mplayer's window (which should be fullscreen) is ending 3 or maybe 4 pixels before end of screen. it's a bit annoying, couse i have cute, light panel there and i always get that thin almost white line at bottom while watching movies;/

i've just checked media-video/mplayer-1.0_pre4-r7 - no problems there

MPlayer is currently working on a new fullscreen system to offset the many
issues with fullscreen in different window managers. I've been following it
since it was mentioned, and I'll see what comes up. I may have a patch for
this in a few days.

pre4-r7 is now stable marked. Closing.
Comment 3 Marcin Kryczek (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-17 09:58:55 UTC
ergh. that doesn't solve the problem, does it?;>
BTW: i've noticed, that sometimes i've got that line on bottom, sometimes on right (mplayer's window is to tight) and sometimes it fill the screen perfectly. so it's propably depends on oryginal size of movie, which isn't perfectly scalable. maybe it would be a good idea to add black line on bottom/right side if needed to fill the screen? it would be better than few pixel of decoration from wm...
Comment 4 Chris White (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-17 11:49:06 UTC
You just said pre4-r7 has no problems, and it's marked stable...

so.. why does that not solve the problem? If it's a version prior to
pre4-r7 that you're using it's not supported anyways. So upgrade
to pre4-r7 and the problem will be fixed?
Comment 5 Marcin Kryczek (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-18 12:25:01 UTC
currently i'm using -pre4-r7 and it's ok, but the bug was reported for -pre5, which is still broken
Comment 6 Chris White (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-22 20:54:33 UTC
If you can, I'd stick with pre4-r7 for your particular window manager. As for
pre5, patching it would be sort of akward, as upstream has basically re-written
the entire window managment system. As such, I'm going to wait until the next
MPlayer gets tossed out. If I don't see anything in about 2 weeks or so, I'll
just go ahead and make a cvs snapshot ebuild. If you still wish for a cvs
version, feel free to contact me at my email, and I'll try and make a cvs
ebuild for you.
