Or more likely, is this because this is Gentoo:Prefix install on a Redhat-based system with: $ rpm -qf /lib64/libc-2.12.so glibc-2.12-1.166.el6_7.7.x86_64 $ $ x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -o tcsh -Wl,-O1 -O2 -pipe -O2 -pipe -march=native -I. -I. sh.o sh.dir.o sh.dol.o sh.err.o sh.exec.o sh.char.o sh.exp.o sh.file.o sh.func.o sh.glob.o sh.hist.o sh.init.o sh.lex.o sh.misc.o sh.parse.o sh.print.o sh.proc.o sh.sem.o sh.set.o sh.time.o glob.o mi.termios.o ma.setp.o vms.termcap.o tw.help.o tw.init.o tw.parse.o tw.spell.o tw.comp.o tw.color.o ed.chared.o ed.refresh.o ed.screen.o ed.init.o ed.inputl.o ed.defns.o ed.xmap.o ed.term.o tc.alloc.o tc.bind.o tc.const.o tc.defs.o tc.disc.o tc.func.o tc.nls.o tc.os.o tc.printf.o tc.prompt.o tc.sched.o tc.sig.o tc.str.o tc.vers.o tc.who.o -lncurses -lcrypt /usr/lib64/libcrypt.so: undefined reference to `NSSLOW_Shutdown@NSSRAWHASH_3.12.3' /usr/lib64/libcrypt.so: undefined reference to `NSSLOWHASH_Update@NSSRAWHASH_3.12.3' /usr/lib64/libcrypt.so: undefined reference to `NSSLOWHASH_End@NSSRAWHASH_3.12.3' /usr/lib64/libcrypt.so: undefined reference to `NSSLOWHASH_NewContext@NSSRAWHASH_3.12.3' /usr/lib64/libcrypt.so: undefined reference to `NSSLOWHASH_Destroy@NSSRAWHASH_3.12.3' /usr/lib64/libcrypt.so: undefined reference to `NSSLOWHASH_Begin@NSSRAWHASH_3.12.3' /usr/lib64/libcrypt.so: undefined reference to `NSSLOW_Init@NSSRAWHASH_3.12.3' collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status $ find /scratch/mmokrejs/gentoo -name libcrypt.so /scratch/mmokrejs/gentoo/var/tmp/portage/sys-libs/glibc-9999/image/scratch/mmokrejs/gentoo/usr/lib64/libcrypt.so /scratch/mmokrejs/gentoo/var/tmp/portage/sys-libs/glibc-9999/work/build-amd64-x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-nptl/crypt/libcrypt.so $ So, I conclude again this is merely a Gentoo:prefix issue on my old RedHat host with glibc-2.12. But, I wonder why there is no USE=-crypto or similar to disable requirement for crypt() in tcsh. I assume most of the functionality does not need crypt(). I tried to fiddle with config.status and config.h but did not manage to get rid of the linker issue. Do not know why. I wonder if RH/CentOS apply a patch to tcsh for this, 6.7 is supported and all that. please try with 6.20.00, it got some fixes in this area. |
