...yay, another double gzipped attachment... Anyway, as the dep *is* present in the ebuild, it's more likely the error message holds the answer: "libssh not found using pkg-config". So it seems that for some reason, 32bit libssh isn't reported by pkg-config. As such, check if 32bit pkg-config reports presence of libssh and its version correctly.
