Hi,

compiz/emerald have new upstream and they seem to be pretty responsive (my experience from Fedora and upstream bug reporting). Their new releases fixed many bugs including crashes and rendering artefacts and even added new features, so please update the ebuilds in Gentoo. In case you are short of time I could provide updated e-builds, because I am going to update the packages at least through my local override. We have already the updated packages in Fedora.
