emerge --info

With dev-libs/nss-3.22.2, a clean emerge of app-office/upwork-4.0.144
fails to run. After the initial click-agreement dialogue, it pops an
error dialogue saying "THERE WAS A PROBLEM LOADING UPWORK", "Please
check your internet connection and restart the app."

My workaround is:

    1. Downgrade to dev-libs/nss-3.20.1.

    2. Run upwork. Now it starts.

    3. Exit upwork.

Here you might want to archive a copy of your ~/.Upwork directory:
       cp --archive ~/.Upwork ~/tmp/

    4. Upgrade back to nss-3.22.2.

       Now it'll start.

My console shows errors that might be unrelated. I see them whether
it starts or not:

    [0601/131130:ERROR:renderer_main.cc(226)] Running without renderer sandbox
[0601/131132:WARNING:nss_ssl_util.cc(359)] Unknown SSL error -12218 mapped to net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

I can force the failure to recur by clearing the Upwork cache:

Preferences > Advanced > Clear Cache and Restart

Then I have to recover either by reapplying the workaround, or by
restoring my archived copy of ~/.Upwork.

I can confirm.

Also downgrading to nss-3.20.1 is impossible, because it's removed from the portage tree. I found the ebuild, but can't find source codes for this version.
So for me this program is unusable in gentoo anymore.

The error in terminal as before:
[0608/193317:WARNING:nss_ssl_util.cc(370)] Unknown SSL error -12218 (SSL_ERROR_ENCRYPTION_FAILURE) mapped to net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

Any workarounds?

app-office/upwork-4.2.153 from my overlay works with dev-libs/nss-3.30.2-r1 - https://github.com/stefantalpalaru/gentoo-overlay
