I'll try to find out if something specific is causing this to occur (ie. a certain type of mp3 such as VBR, joint stereo, mono, etc. If I find anything more, I'll explain here. It probably isn't related to the media that is playing... I'm curious... what was your last-good state? Was it updating kde that broke beep, or did upgrading beep cause this? If you just started using beep, can you try an older version and possibly a different WM? I wouldn't have thought the type of media had anything to do w/ this issue, except for the existence of a bug I reported earlier in which VBR mp3's cause beep's entry in the KDE taskbar to flicker. http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56165 Its likely that the type of media isn't related, but I just thought its a possibility. I believe I was running kde 3.2.3 (out of unstable then) prior to installing Beep, but I am not sure... is there a log file I can check to see when I merged each of them respectively? /var/log/emerge.log should contain the complete history of your emerges closing due to lack of response... |
