Description Mike Tangolics 2004-07-21 09:51:55 UTC
I noticed that there is an ebuild for the Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 miniPCI card in portage, but an ebuild for the 2200BG card is missing. This may be because the 2200 project is fairly recent. It's first working code was released on May 28th. The current version number is 0.2.

The website for this driver is <a href="http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net">http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net</a>

It's possible that the existing 2100 ebuild could just be modified to create the 2200 ebuild.

Sorry about the double link and HTML, didn't realize links were automatically parsed.

The driver doesn't really *do* anything yet. All it does currently is load a firmware. I'd really not like to confuse users ("Oh look, a driver for my card!" ... "Hey, gentoo is broken!") with this yet. I'm on the ipw2100 mailing list, so don't worry about me not tracking this.

Feel free to reopen when it's actually worth having this package in portage.

net-wireless/ipw2200 has been in the tree for ages.
