This is an old pidgin bug: if I have autoconnect to many IRC channels, freenode kicks me out (like it's doing right now again :S) because of excess flood.

The bug is known by upstream for years:

But they don't care. Could this patch be applied in our side meanwhile?

It adds a small delay to prevent freenode from thinking we are doing something insane and preventing the kick then

Working on it. Doing a bump to EAPI-6 as well so this might take a while...
