As upstream reported, sddm-0.13 doesn't parse the config correctly:

Patch for sddm-0.13 attached, as it's not clear when next upstream version with the fix will be released.

Bug is still present in x11-misc/sddm-0.13.0-r3
I can confirm that patch installed via '/etc/portage/patches/x11-misc/sddm-0.13.0-r3/' works fine on amd64, and lists are handled properly.

Please add patch into the portage tree.

Is this patch the same as this upstream commmit? If so, I'll backport it right away.

This should be fixed in sddm 0.14.0.
